New Look - £10
With my dissertation deadline being the 7th May (ahhhhh!) I haven't had time to properly plan my Role Model Monday. So instead, I pre-planned this post on my favourite spring time colours. I'm on a bit of a blue hue at the moment, anything from minty green to baby blue. I bought this jumper in the New Look sale a while ago and it's so easy to wear - it goes with everything. Or at least, I pretend it goes with everything so I get to wear it all the time. I've also been wearing a lot of muted blues on my nails, using what I've come to call my little springtime spectrum.

To say it's been a busy week since moving back to uni would be an understatement! Even though lectures haven't started yet, it's definitely been a challenge to get everything sorted in preparation. I don't think being in final year has really hit me yet! Nevertheless, I thought since September is nearly over I would blog about a few beauty products I purchased during the month. I don't ever really blog about beauty products because in reality I don't use a wide variety at all. I'm very much a stickler to change so the products I use I have been doing so for years! It's rare for me to try anything new in the beauty department so I thought I'd give them a quick mention on here.

First up is Frizz-Ease's Intensive Masque. I use a lot of Frizz-Ease already - my hair naturally forms ringlets but when I relax and/or straighten it, it needs a bit of taming and Frizz-Ease products definitely hit the spot. I am so glad I gave this a go - I've only used it a few times but I already love the smell and the texture and though it's probably too early to tell 100%, my hair does feel healthier already. I apply it after shampooing and conditioning my hair and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing even more improvement in my hair's condition from future uses.

I've seen this product making the rounds on the blogosphere and I wasn't going to buy into the hype until I saw it on offer in Wilkinson. I did need to buy a new moisturiser anyway and Nivea's In-Shower Moisturiser was cheaper than the one I was planning to buy. I have to admit that I'm now glad I did! It definitely makes my skin feel soft and it makes it so much easier to remember to moisturise every day. Perfect for someone like me, who has a tendency to forget!
Last but not least, I bought this Rimmel Lipstick on a whim for my first night out back at uni. I love bright colours on a night out and I have a few items that are of an orangey/coral colour. Since my 4 lipsticks are mostly varying shades of red and pink, I decided to break my mould and go for a lipstick to match my outfit. Enter this little guy, Rimmel's Coral in Gold. It actually looks much brighter in real life and it smells divine! It's supposed to be a lasting finish lipstick and whilst it does stay on for a while, it's no match for drinking (a few too many) alcoholic drinks - but I have yet to find a product that is! I am so glad I bought this and at only 4:98 from Savers, it was a bit of bargain considering how often I plan on wearing it!

Morning :)

It's pretty chilly today and you can definitely tell it's autumn because everywhere on campus is scattered full of crisp, brown leaves! Although I am lamenting the loss of summer a little bit, I am admittedly looking forward to wrapping up in thousands of layers, immersing myself in deep reds and soft browns.

Continuing this autumnal colour scheme, I bought a beautiful new lipstick yesterday which I think will be perfect for the next few months. It's from the Kate Moss range for Rimmel and I was actually looking for some nail varnish for part of my mum's birthday present when my eyes stumbled on to this little beauty. To be fair, I had been looking for a deep berry kind of lipstick for a few weeks but since being back at uni decided it was more of a treat than a necessity. Of course that philosophy went out the window when I saw this one!

The lipstick looks a little darker here than it appears it natural light, but
the flash distorted the colour even more - I couldn't win!

This is a little closer to the actual colour (please excuse my man hands!)

I'm a bit ill at the moment - I've managed to get freshers flu despite not being a fresher! - but I'm hoping to debut this lipstick on Friday night so hopefully an OOTN post to follow later this week :)

How are you all embracing the autumn? The temperature's not great but the clothes sure are!

I've seen a few blog posts about this Rimmel Disco Ball nail varnish and though I'm usually an avid Barry M buyer, on Friday I finally caved after my mum and I saw an offer in Superdrug for 3 Rimmel nail varnishes for £6. My mum bought two and I bought this one. My opinion? I love it.

I wasn't sure whether to wear it on its own or over another colour, so my indecisive self obviously opted for both. I kept my ring finger clear, putting about 4 coats of Disco Ball on it and then used a light pink Barry M varnish for the other fingers.

So far, very impressed. The Disco Ball hasn't chipped yet and it was very easy to apply, even with my non-dominant hand. I'm still a sucker for Barry M but if the 3 for £6 offer is still on next time I go shopping, Rimmel will be top of my list!

Anyone had much experience with this or other Rimmel nail varnishes?
